Which e-bike plan fits your delivery business?
Compare four delivery e-bike plans: Purchase, Lease Only, Operational Lease and All-Inclusive Lease and find the model that keeps your last mile fleet on the road for less.
Which e-bike plan fits your delivery business?
"Leasing or buying, we've got you covered." That's the promise we give you on our website, but the harder question is which of the four models actually fits the way you run deliveries.
The choice isn't really about price first. It's about how much of the day-to-day responsibility - maintenance, repairs, insurance, keeping a spare bike ready you want to keep in-house versus hand over to E4D. Every plan is billed as a predictable monthly plan (except Purchase, which is a one-time payment), so the real difference is ownership and service.
Here's how the four compare, and who each one is for.
What every plan includes
Whichever model you choose, every Ebike4Delivery bike comes with the same baseline: the battery and charger, one delivery box of your choice, and your own custom branding. The differences start with who owns the bike and who carries the risk when it needs work.
Purchase: "customer-owned, optional billed service"
You buy the bikes outright with a one-time payment and own the asset. Beyond the baseline, you get a 6-month warranty on non-wear parts. Maintenance (4× per year) and on-site service are available on request and billed separately, they're not part of the deal.
What you carry yourself: wear parts, minor repairs, battery swaps, a replacement bike when one is down, and damage & theft insurance.
Best for: operators with the capital to buy, their own (or a nearby) mechanic, and enough spare capacity to absorb a bike being off the road. Lowest long-run cost - if you can service the fleet yourself.
Lease Only: "bike only, optional billed service"
The same bike-only proposition as Purchase, but spread across a monthly payment instead of a capital outlay. You still get the baseline plus the 6-month warranty, and service stays optional and billed on request. The same things are excluded: wear parts, minor repairs, battery swap, replacement bike, and insurance.
Best for: businesses that want to preserve cash (opex instead of capex) but still run their own workshop and manage upkeep themselves.
Operational Lease: "service included, wearable parts included, other parts billed separately"
This is where E4D takes over the upkeep. On top of the baseline you get a full-contract warranty, 4× annual maintenance included, on-site service, wear parts, a replacement e-bike when one is off the road, and damage & theft insurance. Minor repairs are billed separately, and a battery swap is €85.
Best for: delivery-first operations where uptime matters and you don't want to run a workshop - couriers and multi-location businesses where delivery is core, not a side channel.
All-Inclusive Lease: "best for full service, no hassle ops"
Everything in the Operational Lease, plus minor repairs included, so effectively nothing unexpected lands on your desk. The battery swap also drops to €42.50.
Best for: fleets that want a single, predictable monthly line and zero operational hassle.
You can see the full feature-by-feature breakdown - what's included in each plan and what isn't on our plans page.
How to choose
- Own workshop, capital to buy, can absorb downtime → Purchase
- Want to preserve cash but still self-service → Lease Only
- Delivery is core, you need uptime and no workshop → Operational Lease
- You want everything handled on one predictable bill → All-Inclusive Lease
The number that really decides it: downtime
For most delivery businesses the deciding factor isn't the monthly price, it's downtime. A bike off the road is lost deliveries. The two operational plans put maintenance, a replacement bike and insurance on Ebike4Delivery, so a breakdown doesn't stop your service. Purchase and Lease Only look cheaper on paper, but they leave that risk and the need to keep a spare bike with you.
